Unemployment Rates

The unemployment rate is a great market indicator for the future market. As long as employment numbers are strong, mortgages will be paid and manufactured items will be purchased.

Adam's Insight: The unemployment rate tricked the economists by adding 254,000 jobs, almost double the expected 140,000. The unemployment rate trickled down to 4.1%. Interest rates were reduced which created a media blitz, but now the rates have quietly increased back to 6%. This will again slow the market down and industry.

Adam's Insight: The #FED has used interest rates to manipulate the economy. Unemployment decreases and interest rates increase to slow the inflation. The inflation rate is at 2.5% on a 12 month rate, however that just means that prices are not increasing as fast as a year ago. Grocery prices are still very high and increasing. Silver is 20% higher than 1 year ago and is 29% higher than last year. The FED chooses a measurement system for the inflation rate, but based on gold and silver we are still at 20-30% which is very high!

Adam's Insight: Even as interest rates decrease, home sales in Brevard County take drop. 16.6% decrease in sales throughout the county is a sizable reduction. The good news is that the beginning of the year was great so the county is only 4.8% behind last years sales year to date.
