The unemployment rate is a great market indicator for the future market. As long as employment numbers are strong, mortgages will be paid and manufactured items will be purchased.

Reasons for December 2024 Unemployment for the Nation


Adam's Insight: Inflation is still increasing and a benefit of inflation is spending. The average american has been spending so children across the country should have received presents under their christmas tree. The national inflation rate is hovering in the 3.5-4.5% range which is great for the average working american.

Adam's Insight: The Florida government has worked hard to keep our unemployment rate low. The space and defense industry are hiring in Brevard County. Tourism is definitely up since the port is a adding new cruise ships.

Adam's Insight: The #FED has kept interest rates in the 6.5-7.5 range for the last 2 years. When you see the words "Interest Rate Drop" in the news just keep reading. Nothing has changed except tenths of a percent which wont make or break anyone if they are going to buy a home in the first place. The market will not feel a change from interest rates unless we see a 2% change. The banks are making profit while the market becomes stagnant.

Adam's Insight: The good news is that November was the lowest month of sales for a very long time. It looks like many buyers just wanted to close in December. December sold about 100 more homes than expected, that is 13% more than anyone thought would close.
