Brevard County Real Estate Market Report for April 2022

Unemployment Rates

A healthy economy has a 3-5% unemployment rate, however a 3-5% unemployment rate does not always indicate a healthy economy.

National Unemployment Rate

2021 2022

Adams Insight: A stable unemployment rate is a powerful indicator, however we are starting to see inflation. The inflation was bound to happen when the federal government started printing money faster than it could be spent. A key item to remember is that nothing is free, and the easiest way to eliminate debt is to spur inflation. Florida's unemployment rate is beating the national average. The current administration has done a great job at inviting business to Florida.

Adams Insight: Sold listings are reducing while new listings are staying strong. There is still a pool of hungry buyers, but once the pool of buyers have found a home we will see prices drop. If interest rates continue to increase the values will stabilize (most likely drop). Viera builders are still selling homes for more than they ever imagined, so the market is still strong. If there is a drastic change in May (interest rates) we will start to see DOM (days on market) lengthen.
